Daffodils are bright cheery star shaped flowers that are plentiful and inexpensive this time of year. Nunans gets fresh beautiful daffodils in weekly and they are just the right choice if you want to treat yourself to some color to brighten up a gloomy day. They are the perfect gift to lift someone’s spirits.
Potted daffodils are available in various size pots that hold different numbers of bulbs. Each bulb produces a clump of leaves and a flower. Miniature daffodils are just like the big ones but, as the name implies, smaller. After the flowers have faded you can plant the bulbs in the ground (leave the foliage on so the bulbs can gather energy for next years flowers) and they will re sprout again next spring.
When purchasing daffodils for use as a cut flower be sure to segregate newly cut stalks as they bleed a sap that clogs the stems of other flowers. Once they have been on their own for 24 hours you can mix them with other flowers, just don’t re-cut them or you will have to banish them again.
