I just came across this article this morning from the Georgetown Record, just thought you might want to do something a little different this Valentine’s Day. Nunans will be open all day if you want to pick up a little bouquet for your dance partner.
First Congregational hosts Valentine’s Day Dance
The First Congregational Church of Georgetown, 7 Andover St., invites the public to a Community Valentine’s Square Dance on Saturday, Feb. 13.
Callers Al and France Rouff will be on hand to teach square dancing to all ages. The family dance will be held from 7-8 p.m.; the adult dance (grades 4 and up) will be held form 8:30-10:30 p.m.
The cost is $5 per person, $10/family up to 4 members, $15/family of 5 or more.
The event is a fundraiser by church school children to raise funds for Heifer International, an organization that brings help, healing and hope to millions of impoverished families worldwide. The organization donates livestock to people, and the recipients must share any abundance of foods and pass on any offspring of the animals to another family in need in their community.
Children will be selling homemade cookies, candy, and other sweets as well as some handmade crafts after the worship service at 11:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. The annual church school families Lenten Collection will be divided this year between Heifer and the relief fund established by the United Church of Christ for their work in Haiti.
